As the liner not say, “our music is best described by the term:
Creative Music.” Pianist Soren Moller and woodwind specialist Dick
Oatts deliver a long-awaited follow-up to their well received set of
duets Storytelling from 05. Here, the two stretch out, converse and
foray through a half dozen pieces which include moments of drama and
brightness, as on the title track, or delicate communion as on
“Reflections.” Oatt’s alto on “Prokofiev’s Balcony Scene” go from
sublime to declaratory and back again, while his flute on “Butterfly”
has an Oriental spaciousness about it. Improvising, but without self
indulgence.
