Here’s a disc that serves as a feast for guitar fans. Sandor Szabo sticks to a 12 string baritone, while partner Kastning mixes 12 strings in alto, baritone and a 6 string baritone on this collection of ten co-composed originals. The music is a mix of sounds ranging from classical, jazz and eastern European folk, with songs ranging from the highly melodious “Point Of Entry” to the ethereal “Over The Hills…” The mood overall is reflective, at times melancholy and pensive. No exhibitionist display of chops here; the emphasis is more like light bouncing through a stained glass window. Intriguing and contemplative fretwork here.
