No One Asked My Opinion, But….

Rare sightings; artists that almost never come to LA, so see them when
they’re here!
By George W. Harris

It used to be a rare treat to see some of the artists that live in NYC
or Europe. Now, with the Bakery closed down, some artists are about as
rare as shrimp at a Bar Mitzvah. If any of these people are within 100
miles, hop in the car and go see them, as they may not be back for a
LONG time
1) Toshiko Akiyoshi
2) Carla Bley
3) Gino Sitson
4) Barry Harris
5) Peter Cincotti
6) Herb Geller
7) Kevin Mahogony
8) Vincius Colantuara
9) Lew Tabackin
10) George Cables

It’s simply discouraging that a town like Los Angeles has a difficult
time attracting musicians from the Least Coast, but, Lord willing, when
the Bakery re-opens, we will draw artists like these again.
